The territory of Lignières-en-Berry is rich in monetary treasures witnesses of a fascinating historical past. Since the 1970s several deposits of ancient and royal coins have been discovered including a Roman treasure at La Bergerie and another at La Brande de Feuilloux.

But one of the most intriguing finds remains the treasure of Saint-Thibaut unearthed in 1981. Made up of 520 silver coins minted under Louis XV this treasure raises many questions: is it a religious deposit of the monks of the neighboring hermitage or the reserve of a traveling merchant?
