Emperor Aurelian (AD 270–275) is remembered by historians and collectors alike as the emperor who restored Rome’s unity during its time of greatest crisis. Defeating both the Palmyrene and Gallic empires, he brought stability to a fractured world and earned the title Restitutor Orbis.

His dedication to Sol Invictus — the Unconquered Sun — is evident in his impressive coinage, particularly his antoniniani, which often feature the deity alongside symbols of military dominance. Aurelian also began building the famous Aurelian Walls, ensuring Rome’s defense for centuries to come. His coins are among the most fascinating relics of late Roman imperial power.
