Pair of beautiful hemispheric stone seals, Mesopotamia, Ubaid period, probably 5th. to early 4th. mill. overlapping Uruk.
The lot includes a larger stamp seal carved in red jasper and another smaller in fine green-black stone. Both with a drill through for having them on a string.
Both engraved with a cruciform pattern with wedges in the angles.
The jasper seal is c. 23 mm. in diameter, the cruciform 15 mm. in diameter
Condition: VF to Good Very fine, smooth wear and small losses to the jasper seal, the green stone seal intact.
Ex. German Private collection, aquired before 1990.
Comes with hard impressions.
