12 Dollars LA CATRINA 1/1000 Oz Gold Coin 12$ Liberia 2026

This distinctive 1/1000 Oz Gold coin is a sculptural tribute to La Catrina, the elegant icon where beauty and mortality meet. Shaped as her unmistakable silhouette, the design reveals a graceful face transformed by skeletal makeup, framed by flowing hair and crowned with blooming roses. Death dressed for celebration. Refined. Mysterious. Unafraid. Deep dark accents sharpen the floral and facial details, while glossy and matte contrasts give the tiny Gold surface surprising depth. Struck in .999 fine Gold with an Enhanced BU quality, the coin turns one of the most recognizable symbols of Mexican visual culture into a miniature numismatic portrait. It comes in a protective capsule, along with its Certificate of Authenticity. Limited to 1.500 pieces worldwide. The reverse of this Gold coin takes the shape of La Catrina herself, transforming the entire outline into an expressive portrait. Her face is decorated with stylized skull makeup: darkened eyes, a skeletal nose, stitched lips, and delicate ornamental motifs across the forehead and chin. Flowing hair frames the lower composition, while an elaborate crown of roses and smaller flowers rises above her head. Gold surfaces alternate with deep dark details, and the glossy and matte contrasts emphasize the eyes, petals, hair, and skeletal decoration. No inscription appears on the reverse. The obverse continues the decorative language with skulls, flowers, curls, stars, and ornamental motifs distributed across the shaped surface. At the center appears the Seal of the Republic of Liberia. All around the central seal, the inscriptions: "LA CATRINA" - the name of the coin, "REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA" - the issuing country, "12 DOLLARS" - the face value, and "1/1000 OZ .999 FINE GOLD" - the weight and fineness of the Gold.
