The many conquests, triupmhs and defeats of Napoleon have been captured on a plethora of medals and tokens; the fields of 'Napoleonic medals' is enourmous and has fascinated many generations of numismatists, including famous collectors such as Julius and Bramsen. This piece was probably a jewelery piece for a supporter to show their loyalty.
Given the fact that Napoleon is referred to as 'General Bonaparte', this piece must pre-date his ascension to emperor. Removed ringlet at 12 o'clock; it seems this piece must have been worn by a staunch supporter of the French general and emperor. Almost fully intact silvering!
