PCGS MS 63 - TOP POP!
Low Mintage - 2574 ONLY - KEY DATE!
This taler of Hesse-Cassel is a very interested piece of numismatic history because it reflects the historical period of the "double governing" with Wilhelm II remained as the legal Elector, but his son Friedrich Wilhelm had become co-regent (since 1831). We can see it reflected on the coin's legend - both father and son appears and that is why there were no portrait - only the crowned Arms of Hesse! Very popular collectible item and especially this particular year, 1839, with lowest mintage (only 2574 per Krause)! Extremely scarce MS population as well - TOP POP for PCGS! Perfect collectible find with full substantial original surfacing on the fields, sharp letters and the bead border, very little circulation wear - truly uncirculated coin! There are some contact marks and hairlines in the open reverse field, which is probably determine the grade - MS 63 by PCGS. TOP POP, KEY DATE - this one is the perfect collectible and investment coin!
