Despite being quite common in MS/UNC state this Commemorative double thaler of Johann of Saxony (1854-1873), 1872, Golden Wedding Anniversary, is almost impossible to find in PROOF condition - only single specimens occasionally you can see on Auctions with most of it as a "plain edge variety" (KM 1231.2). There are no proof mintage numbers in Krause. We are offering one graded as PR 62 by PCGS with highly reflective mirrored fields, razor-sharp design, touch of toning and great appearance in general! Some excessive hairlines in the fields determine the grade - PR 62. Hosted in PCGS holder without edge view but marked as "lettered edge" on the holder. Great historical piece - last thaler minted in Germany!! Perfect for the investment as well!!
