Reverse: Three-line inscription MDCCCXXXIX / XX SEPTEMBER / MDCCCLXXXIX, surrounded by laurel branches bearing fourteen municipal coats of arms. Signed W.S. below.
Commemorating the railway jubilee of 20 September 1839–1889. The locomotive portrait and surrounding municipal arms combine the technological and geographical development of the company’s railway network.
An example of the same type is preserved in Museum De Lakenhal, Leiden, inventory 1981.
