Obverse:

Historical context:
This silver prize medal, designed by Lea Ahlborn, was awarded during the reign of Oscar II (1872–1907) for achievements in horse breeding. Such medals were presented at agricultural exhibitions to promote excellence in animal husbandry, reflecting the importance of horse breeding in Swedish rural society. Lea Ahlborn was the pioneering female medal engraver at the Swedish Royal Mint.
