Obverse:
Ornate coat of arms of the city of Louvain (Leuven), crowned and surrounded by elaborate scrollwork and floral elements. Legend around: "SOCIÉTÉ ROYALE D’AGRICULTURE ET DE BOTANIQUE / LOUVAIN". City motto beneath the shield: "HAUT. ET. CLAIR." Decorative rosettes flank the lower legend.
Reverse:
Blank central field intended for engraving, encircled by a finely detailed wreath of oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon below. Engraver’s name "HART" at bottom.
