Summarizing the building history of the church, tower, and the inauguration date of the new school.
Historical context:
This medal was struck in 1831 to commemorate key architectural milestones in the town of Nördlingen: the construction of the Gothic St. George’s Church (1427–1505), its imposing tower (built 1454–1490), and the inauguration of the new school building on May 3, 1830. The finely detailed architecture and extensive inscription reflect civic pride and educational progress.
Designed and engraved by Johann Jakob Neuß, an accomplished Bavarian medallist and engraver.
