Apulian Red Figure Oinochoe, ca. 4th Century BC. One side of the vessel features a richly adorned woman in profile, with a small pursed mouth, prominent nose, and elaborately bejeweled coiffure. The reverse features an elegant fan-shaped palmette beneath the high strap handle, while large scrolling palmettes fill the surrounding field. A wave frieze frames the scene above and below. The mouth is shaped into a distinctive trefoil form with three spouts. H. 9 7/8" (25.1 cm)..
