Reverse : LA VIERGE / AUX ROCHERS / E. 1485 / LÉONARD / DE VINCI Légende en 5 lignes entourée d’une frise végétale
Commentary : Patine irisée avec quelques taches d’oxydation et traces de manipulation
FR : Médaille, conservée dans un écrin bleu, issue du médaillier Franklin qui met à l’honneur le tableau de Léonard de Vinci : La Vierge aux rochers (1483-1486). Commandée par la Confraternité de l’Immaculée Conception pour sa chapelle à l’église San Francesco Grande de Milan, elle est désormais conservée au Musée du Louvre à Paris.Médaille sculptée par Herman de Roos.Théoriquement, le poinçon crabe est censé indiquer un titrage à 800 millièmes

Commissioned by the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception for its chapel in the church of San Francesco Grande in Milan, it is now kept at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Medal sculpted by Herman de Roos. Theoretically, the crab hallmark is supposed to indicate a fineness of 800 thousandths
