Obverse : république française Tète de Cérès à droite
Reverse : souvenir du tirage au sort // CLASSE / 1893 / 1551 Cartouche tenu par un soldat tenant un fusil à gauche et un conscrit tenant l’étendard de sa classe d’incorporation à droite ; à l’exergue, deux canons et une grenade. Signé : A. DUSEAUX PARIS
Commentary : Médaille nettoyée, présentant des taches d’oxydation. Présence de coups et rayures
FR : Médaille avec un diamètre sans bélière : 45,50 mm.Médaille numérotée : 1551.Ces petites médailles étaient distribuées à l’occasion des tirages au sort. Le service militaire n'étant pas généralisé et les recrutements se faisant en fonction des besoins définis par le Ministère de la Guerre, il était donc procédé à un tirage au sort entre les conscrits potentiels.Le symbole avec les deux cannons et la grenade correspond aux sous officiers mitrailleurs entre 1914 et 1918.Le droit est signé O.I (?) sur le cou. Revers non attribué, sans aucun numéro, nom ou date de gravé dans le cartouche
EN : Medal with a diameter without bail: 45.50 mm. Numbered medal: 1551. These small medals were distributed on the occasion of drawings. Military service was not generalized and recruitment was done according to the needs defined by the Ministry of War, so a drawing was carried out between potential conscripts. The symbol with the two cannons and the grenade corresponds to the non-commissioned machine gunners between 1914 and 1918. The obverse is signed OI (?) on the neck. Reverse unassigned, without any number, name or date engraved in the cartouche
