Commentary : Belle patine marron hétérogène, légèrement irisée, présentant quelques points d’usure
FR : La propagande de Louis Philippe fait ici merveille de mettre son règne dans la continuité de celui de Napoléon Ier. On comprend mal l’absence de poinçon, la fabrication française ne faisant pas de doute et de même l’utilisation des mesures royales en pieds, celles-ci n’ayant jamais été reprises après la révolution
EN : Louis Philippe's propaganda does wonders here in placing his reign in continuity with that of Napoleon I. It is difficult to understand the absence of a hallmark, as French manufacture is not in doubt, and likewise the use of royal measurements in feet, which were never taken up again after the revolution.
