Obverse: Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Horse's head to left; palm tree behind; below, Punic legend ´MHMHNT (am machanat , ”people of the camp”).
Excellent specimen of this rare and very interesting coin, struck by the Carthaginians during their rule in Sicily. In EF-/EF condition, the coin conserves complete details on both sides, very bold reliefs checkable at photo and a precious toned silver.
Jenkins 319, SNG Ashmolean 2165. Entella (Sicily) mint, circa 300-289 BC. 16,6 g - 22 mm
